Cove 6 House in Knyzna, South Africa.
The team of Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA) designed the Cove 6 house situated in Knyzna, South Africa. The Cove is a recently established private estate with the Pezula Golf Estate as backdrop. One of the greatest sources of inspiration for the architectural design came from the natural environment. The house offers spectacular views over the sea and the rocky landscape. It is intended for the use as holiday home during the summer time. The building provides a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience with great attention to the beautiful views and surrounding landscape.
Many of the natural attributes can be found in the selected materials, which were used in the effort to complement the natural colors and textures of the landscape. The architects created an airy holiday home that is firmly anchored into the terrain by heavy stone walls. Several elements such as terrace and pool provide cantilevered structures in order to use an architectural concept that affects the environment as little as possible.
All interior spaces are based on an open plan linear composition to allow views from every room of the house. A maximum of simplicity formed the basis for the entire architectural concept.
The nice terrace with pool of the Cove 6 house ensures perfect relaxation and quality of life.
